Last weekend Sara and I traveled up to Seattle to join in the celebration of our dear friends Jonathan and LE getting married. I had the great honor of being best man and Sara snapped lots of wonderful photos during the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception party. Click the links for the full set, a couple of highlights here:
Leave it to The Onion to take war reporting to a whole new level. On a recent movie outing (to see the wonderful March of the Penguins), Sara and I came across a disturbing report from General Bonkers about the War on String.

Battle on my furry friends.
Today’s trip down memory lane includes one of my favorite travel stories, Dinner at Denny’s, a tale of two brothers, a long drive through Eastern California, and some really bad food. There are other tales too here in the archives.
I hope not to have a repeat of the Denny’s story this weekend as I head back to Eastern California for the annual fall color bacchanalia around Bishop and June Lake. The weather report is calling for snow on Saturday night, possibly down to 6000 feet. Could mean Tioga Pass closing, and another trip over Monitor Pass and down on into Jackson.
Another set of files lost in time on the webserver. These go back to the mid 90s, a Java applet that scrolls panoramic images created in POV-Ray. You’ll need a Java plug-in, then go here to view the 3D worlds. Ah, the joys of not deleting any old files ![]()
I’ve been going through the files on the website to update to the redesigned look and feel (and coverting everything over to PHP). I came across a bunch of files that are no longer linked in. Today’s favorites are a collection of MIDI files I made a few years ago while I was taking piano lessons. You’ll need Quicktime or some other plug-in that plays MIDI files. My personal favorites are Bad, Mothers of the Disappeared and a daring piano interpretation of the Imperial March.
