Every few years the infamous exploding whale video comes up again, this time courtesy of Jeff. If you’ve never seen it, sit right back and you’ll hear a tail of a whale, a beach, and some misplaced explosives. If you’ve seen it before, it just never gets old.
Good God! James Brown and the Family Stone Experience came to the Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton. Sara and I were dancing in the aisle to the Family Stone tunes, and getting funky with the Godfather of Soul. James Brown is the hardest working man in show business, continiously touring (probably to pay off his legal bills) and he’s still got the foot work and he’s still got the soul.
Be sure to check out James Brown feeling good.
Lately we’ve been working on a DVD of our trip to Paris from July, complete with an hour of video and lots of photos. A friend sent this over, a film of high speed driving in Paris. Something to aspire to for our next trip.
Last night we’re sitting on the couch watching Desperate Housewives when the apartment gets a big jolt by a 2.4 earthquake just a few miles away. This is the fifth earthquake I’ve felt, and the first in over a year. The walls and floor rumbled for a second or two, nothing got moved around.
So, this tissue walks into a bar.
Bartender says, “Can I pour you a drink?”
Tissue says, “Heck no, it’ll go right through me!”
Bartender says, “Well, you don’t have to get all snotty about it.”
It’s almost time to put up the tree and the lights. Each Christmas we get out National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and watch Clark Griswald get up on the roof with his 25000 imported Italian twinkle lights. I dream of doing that one day. Someone else whose got the same idea… enjoy!
… then take the @U2 Fan Survey, running the whole month of November.
Last week U2 came to town for two nights at the Oakland Arena for two rockin’ shows. We were ticketless until shortly before showtime both nights. I had been holding out for the ellusive GA (general admission) floor tickets. Alas none were to be found. On night one Sara and I end up in the front row of section 119 thanks to the day of show ticket drop. We were just over Edge’s shoulder, making for some wonder photo opportunities. On night two I ended up in section 115, also thanks to the ticket drop and got a few more photos.
On night two U2 were on fire, mixing up the set list and closing the show with my all time favorite, Bad.
Rock on.
I was going through my hard drive and came across two sets of photos from New York City. The first set is from October 27, 2001 at Ground Zero. It was my first trip back to NY after the terrible events of 9/11. Steven and I headed downtown and walked around Ground Zero. It was a somber experience as many people slowly made their way around the buildings and make shift memorials surrounding the site of the World Trade Center.
The second set is from Central Park, shot in the late 1990s while I was living in Brooklyn.
