There’s a wonderful vintage clothing store in San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square whose sales go to benefit and the Helpers of the Mentally Retarded. I’ve been visting the store for a few years, finding Christmas presents and some great vintage clothes. The woman who runs the place, Joy Venturini Bianchi, is a total fashonista, and has a great eye for clothes that fit and look great. Sara was in search of hats to wear for our rehearsal dinner and day after brunch. A few photos of the many hats she tried.

Once again we had a tree decorating party, this time to celebate our first tree together. On Saturday we went tree shopping. On Sunday we had a record turnout with a wonderfully decorated tree lighting up our living room. The Canon 20d was setup to record all the action in time lapse. Thanks to all for helping!

Every few years the infamous exploding whale video comes up again, this time courtesy of Jeff. If you’ve never seen it, sit right back and you’ll hear a tail of a whale, a beach, and some misplaced explosives. If you’ve seen it before, it just never gets old.

Back in June of 2004 I visited the mysterious island of Iceland with Ayaz, Kim, and Laura (and a group of her friends from Boston). The trip was titled “For the Birds” and birds there were, millions of them. Our trip was based out of Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, with a series of day trips: out along the Golden Circle, to the Westmann Island in the south, and up to Iceland second largest city,Akureyri, in the north with an additional plane flight up to the Arctic Circle and the little island of Grimsey where we encountered many little Puffins.
Iceland is a truly magical place and one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. A wonder for landscape photography with mountains, volcanos, geysers, hot springs, and the slow expanding contential divide between Europe and North America. Our trip was just weeks before the Summer Solstice. Sunset was shortly before midnight and “night” was a brief few hours where the Sun dipped just below the horizon.

I’m looking forward to some reports from Vegas.

Last weekend Sara and I traveled up to Seattle to join in the celebration of our dear friends Jonathan and LE getting married. I had the great honor of being best man and Sara snapped lots of wonderful photos during the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception party. Click the links for the full set, a couple of highlights here:
