For as long as I can remember I’ve been a fan of trains. Growing on just a few feet from the main line of the Long Island Railroad and setting up Lionel trains around the Christmas tree got me started. Then small HO and N scale layouts, and lots of arm chair model railroading. Finally I’ve got the opportunity to work on a big layout, I’ve joined the Silicon Valley Lines in San Jose: A 23′ x 72′ two layer layout.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve helped out with wiring up switches and this Friday is operations night, where we get to run the trains all around the layout
Being from Long Island my first purchase for the club in the Atlas Diesel locomotive with the old Long Island color scheme:

If you’re a Bay Area model railroading fan, come and join us on Friday!
