The 2007 U2 concert photo auction to benefit the African Well Fund has begun. All the photos can been seen here. 100% of the proceeds go to help the African Well Fund. I have five photos in this year’s auction, please take a look and bid on some photos.
U2 have a new concert movie coming out in the fall, and it’s in IMAX 3D. Over the weekend we saw the latest 3D flic, Disney’s Meet the Robinsons, the 3D effect was incredible, the best I’ve ever experienced plus a fun story too. There were rumors the U2 trailer would show in theatres, we didn’t see it but now it’s online:
Rock on.
The good folks at the African Well Fund are gearing up for another U2 photography auction starting in mid April. I’m proud to have been asked to participate last year and again this year. All the money raised goes to the fund’s goal of building wells in Africa. Today I updated the U2 Concert Photography Portfolio with additional images. All of my best U2 images are now available for purchase as fine art digital prints!

… then take the @U2 Fan Survey, running the whole month of November.
Last week U2 came to town for two nights at the Oakland Arena for two rockin’ shows. We were ticketless until shortly before showtime both nights. I had been holding out for the ellusive GA (general admission) floor tickets. Alas none were to be found. On night one Sara and I end up in the front row of section 119 thanks to the day of show ticket drop. We were just over Edge’s shoulder, making for some wonder photo opportunities. On night two I ended up in section 115, also thanks to the ticket drop and got a few more photos.
On night two U2 were on fire, mixing up the set list and closing the show with my all time favorite, Bad.
Rock on.
I’ve been going through the files on the website to update to the redesigned look and feel (and coverting everything over to PHP). I came across a bunch of files that are no longer linked in. Today’s favorites are a collection of MIDI files I made a few years ago while I was taking piano lessons. You’ll need Quicktime or some other plug-in that plays MIDI files. My personal favorites are Bad, Mothers of the Disappeared and a daring piano interpretation of the Imperial March.
U2 recently started the fall leg of their Vertigo Tour. I finally posted the photos from the spring leg at: here. Some of the photos from San Diego were shot by my sweetie. We’re looking forward to more shows this fall, currently planning for Las Vegas and Oakland.
After skipping night 1 at Yankee Stadium, I drove up to the Bronx for night 2, and my fourth and final stop on the Zoo TV Tour.
