I recently started posting my favorite photos to Flickr, the photo sharing site. Come on over to my Flicker photos.
Today’s interesting site is Visited Countries, where you can create your own map of places you’ve been to, and get some ideas of places still to be visited. The countries I’ve visited:
There’s a corresponding Visited States site too:
42 of 50, almost there!
This past weekend brought some cold and snow weather around the Bay Area. On Friday we got lightning, thunder, and hail, along with a weather report calling for snow about 1000 feet. I got up before dawn on Saturday and headed for Mt. Tam and it’s 2571 peak. Sure enough, there was snow!

Over the recent Presidents Day Weekend I took a trip to the magical lands of southern Utah and northern Arizona. My main goal was to explore the slot canyons around the little town of Page Arizona, but I also ventured out to Monument Valley at sunset and Zion National Park on the return home (via. St. George Utah). A full page of photo highlights.

Last weekend we drove out to Modesto to meet with Rev. Grace on planning our wedding ceremony. We took the scenic route home, via Highway 132. The Almond trees were blooming, appearing like a snow covered forest. The macro lens was put to good use:

Last Wednesday we saw Chuck Brodsky at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. He put on a wonderful show playing most of the songs off his new album, Tulips for Lunch.

We’re excited to begin offering a ‘Print of the Month‘ starting with one of my favorite images, “Storm Rolling In - Yosemite Valley”. This image was made in October 2000 from the Tunnel View overlook in Yosemite National Park. For me this image captures the awesome scale of Yosemite Valley and the incredible weather patterns that move across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The light was changing rapidly as I setup my tripod and composed this shot. Soon afterward a full scale storm began, complete with ligtening and thunder rolling down the valley.

This image was recorded with a Canon EOS Elan II and a 50mm f/1.4 lens on Fuji Velvia professional slide film. The image was then drum scanned to extract as much information as possible from the original slide.
Today I updated the U2 Concert Photography Portfolio with additional images. All of my best U2 images are now available for purchase as fine art digital prints!

Another new photo from our recent trip to Yosemite. This is the last photo of the weekend, shot during the last moments of the sunset on the foothills of the Sierra, along side Highway 140.

The evening photography sessions in San Francisco continue. Recently Christophe and I explored the streets around Union Square. This time I left the tripod at home and looked for shots with interesting illumination. We found some neon signs and a few remaining Christmas lights.
